Good Eats In Sedona, AZ
Dear Polite Travelers,
Due
to tourist overload in Sedona, we decided to cut our visit short...like three
days short. Imagine, driving nearly a
thousand miles to a destination, only to drive home after three days. Yep.
Beautiful setting, but immensely too busy.
Besides
Sedona’s natural beauty, it is also known for some great eats. Unfortunately, with our limited time in
Sedona, we dined at only two restaurants. Actually, we only ordered takeout from one
and had a glass of wine at the other. In
any case, these two finds are, indeed, finds.
Make Reservations, Wait or Takeout at Pisa Lisa Restaurant
Pisa
Lisa is a favorite with locals and tourists alike. You’ll notice a steady line of people
checking in to find out if their table is ready. We arrived early, at 3:45, and we still had
an hour wait. Because of the wait and
the place was packed full of non-mask-wearing people, we opted for
takeout. Best yet. They had a few small tables outdoors. So, we waited for our pizza while sipping on
an excellent California Chardonnay.
Our
Primo Portobello pizza at $17 was yummy.
The crust was thin and a bit chewy—which I love—lightly covered with marinara, provolone,
mozzarella, a mixture of mushrooms, herbs, and arugula.

We Should Have Eaten at Picazzo's!
Even
the outside of Picazzo's screams, “You’ll be comfortable here!” And we were.
Since we had leftover pizza from the night before, we just ordered a
glass of wine at a small table in the bar.
We were early, and the tables are
set far from one another, so we felt safe removing our masks and enjoying the
yummy California Vista Point Chardonnay—at “Healthy Hour” prices—mixed with a
warm, friendly atmosphere.
Picazzo's
offers a varied menu with healthy alternatives, like gluten-free, vegan,
allergy sensitive, organic, and non-GMO options.
It also appears to be a local hangout for those seeking a healthy, yet
delicious pizza. I’m guessing about the
“delicious” nature of the food based on the response of the patrons we
observed. All seemed happy with their choices.
Until
next time...happy travels, my polite travelers!
